heat 11 GmbH & Co. KG received exciting news: The make heat 11 has been nominated for the German Brand Award in the category “Industry, Machines & Engineering”.
The German Brand Award is an award of the German Design Council, founded on an initiative of the Deutscher Bundestag (German Federal Parliament). Erik Spiekermann, one of the most important and internationally recognized German designer and typographers, is also in the committee of the Council.
Dieter Rams, one of the pioneers of modern product design – for example, was most significantly responsible for decades for the products of company Braun – had been president of this Council for many years.
It is therefore a major and prestigious design award that is clear not least from the fact that among others the previous winners include Lamy, Lufthansa Systems, Motel One, Kyocera, Koelnmesse, Telekon, Aldi and many more.
Since– unlike other awards – one has to be nominated for this award by the Council in order to submit its participation, an initial selection has already been made that shows a high quality level within the competition.
Just a nomination is like a “small” award. However, it still remains exciting whether it will stay with a nomination or if heat 11 GmbH & Co. KG will win the prestigious award.
The announcement of the winners and the subsequent award ceremony will take place in Berlin on 21 June 2018. Now keep your fingers crossed!
